Baccarat by Mascot Gaming: A Digital Version of the Classic Card Game

Baccarat is a software-based table game from Mascot Gaming. It recreates the traditional contest between two dealt hands called Player and Banker, while the user predicts which hand will finish closer to nine or whether both hands will tie. The names do not mean that the user personally plays one hand against a human dealer. They identify the two sides of the table on which bets can be placed before the cards are dealt.

Card Values and the Objective

Aces count as one point, cards from two through nine keep their face value, and tens, jacks, queens, and kings count as zero. When a hand totals more than nine, only the final digit is used. For example, cards totaling 14 produce a baccarat value of four. A total of eight or nine on the first two cards is known as a natural and normally ends the drawing stage immediately.

After the initial deal, any third card is drawn automatically according to the fixed baccarat tableau. The player does not decide whether either side should hit or stand. This is an important difference from blackjack: the decision occurs when choosing a bet, not after seeing the first cards. Once all required cards have been dealt, the hand closest to nine wins.

Player, Banker, and Tie Bets

The three central options are Player, Banker, and Tie. A Player bet wins when the Player hand has the higher valid total. A Banker bet wins when the Banker hand is closer to nine; depending on the rules shown in the game, a commission may be applied to a winning Banker wager. A Tie bet wins only when both hands finish with the same total and therefore usually offers a larger payout but a substantially lower probability.
